We have been learning
the daily schedule and routines of the classroom. Thank you to the parents for
signing the planner each next and helping your child practice this routine.
Math
In math we have
been learning math practices. These are
strategies for students to use when they are learning new math concepts. We
also started Topic 1 which is on place value, expanded notation, and comparing
numbers.
Reading
In reading we are
learning about different fiction and non-fiction texts. We have been also making text to
self-connections, text to text connections and text to world connections.

Stroll for a Goal and Our Class Theme
The Stroll For the Goal is on October 2nd at 12:30. Please send back your packets on Wednesday, September 30th. We voted on a
class theme for our Stroll for a Goal day.
The students decided on motorcycle wear. So we brainstormed what to
wear. Jeans, black t-shirts, a bandanna,
dark sunglasses. If you need help finding clothes. Let me know!
Reading Logs
I sent home the first
reading log today for the students to complete this. They should be reading 20 minutes each
weekday night and once over the weekend.
They should complete the reading log each time they read and return it
to me next Friday, October 2nd, signed by a parent.
