DOUGLAS WOOD CAME TO SIBLEY

Douglas Wood came to Sibley and he was great!  He read us books and told us his story about becoming an author.  He also played his guitar and sang songs with us.

Mrs. Shultz was the Best!

We achieved our reading goals in I love to Read Month so..... we got to duct tape Mrs. Schultz to a chair so she could read.  We had a lot of fun!

PAINT Our Cultural Unit

This past week we have been working on our culture unit and studying Native Americans.  The students read a book about a Native American boy and made posters explaining what he does during the summer, spring, and fall.  We found out we do many things that are the same.  We learned about the ways he still celebrates his culture.

Students reading and summarizing what they have read.

We Skyped with a professor from St. Cloud state who is a Dakota Native American.

Students are creating shakers in art and have picked out a symbol that represents their culture and them.

The students have summarized their learner by writing paragraphs about each big idea from each resource they have used. Students typing their paragraphs in a google doc to upload to our blog to share with classmates.
